The Carbon Farming Outreach Program supports Australian farmers and land managers to reduce emissions and store carbon.
The Program is designed to educate and empower farmers, land managers and communities to confidently navigate the carbon space and better understand on-farm emissions reduction and carbon storage practices. It has been developed to cut through the overwhelming amount of information available and offer farmers a non-biased view of what carbon farming is and what it means for them.
For our Region, Landscape SA Hills and Fleurieu and Landscape SA Kangaroo Island is here to support you. The team has local knowledge and expertise and can provide free, independent advice to rural land managers on:
understanding carbon farming;
how to calculate on-farm emissions;
participating in carbon markets;
understanding the governing regulations; and
connecting with like-minded land managers.
There are also FREE Carbon Farming Workshops available where you will learn:
What is carbon farming? Understand the concept and its applications.
Benefits for on-farm productivity: Explore how carbon farming can enhance your farm’s efficiency and output.
Generating carbon credits: Can you earn credits, and what to consider.
Carbon footprint: Learn what it is and why reducing it is critical.
Calculating emissions intensity: Get practical insights on measuring and managing your emissions.
Reducing on-farm emissions, and in some cases sequestering carbon, is a journey we are all on together. With so much information available in a rapidly evolving space, knowing what is right for your farm can be difficult to navigate.
This project is funded by the Commonwealth of Australia through the Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment, and Water under the Carbon Farming Outreach Program.
